Firstly remember this is like a Folder or Directory.
Keep your code (Many types such as *.R, *.Rmd )
Keep your data files (*.csv, maybe *.xls)
Keep your outputs (Such as *.pdf, *.doc, or *.html)
The way to learn R is to within RStudio start a Project. On the top menu select File, select New Project, and then a pop up will ask which Directory you wish to work in Open an Existing or open a New Directory.
Projects are like a Folder, so all your R code, data and output can be saved in one place.
